Thirtytwo is the collaborative moniker for directors Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace. Their career began directing music videos, but quickly expanded into commercials, live music and feature documentaries.
Their definitive film about iconic British band Blur (“No Distance Left to Run”) was nominated for a Grammy award in 2010 and shortlisted for a Grierson award. Their seminal documentary about the final days of LCD Soundsystem (“Shut Up And Play The Hits”) earned widespread critical acclaim, including selection at Sundance film festival.
In 2014 Thirtytwo directed an ambitious short film presented by “The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” as part of a three-part video series commissioned by 20th Century Fox. They also directed the Netflix comedy special “Buried Alive” starring Aziz Ansari.
The duo has been well received by the advertising community having shot commercials for major brands such as VW, BBC, Nike, McDonalds, and Samsung.
