Camila Zapiola
Camila Zapiola was practically born on a film set during the advertising boom in the 80s. In her adolescence, she won several creative writing contests and her works were published in the anthology "New voices of the Hispanic World". Finally, at the age of 18, she made her debut as a writer and director in the theater with the play "Metamorfosis Adolescente".
While still in school, she began working as an assistant director and continued until Grey gave her her first chance as a filmmaker with the spot "Amateurs" for Magistral.
Since then, she has filmed in Germany, UK, France, Mexico, Chile, South Africa, Italy and the United States for brands such as Coca-Cola, McDonald's, P&G, Danone, T-Mobile, Domino's, AOK, Peroni, Ted Talks, Meetic and many others.
Her work is dark, funny, subversive, and surprising, rendering the absurdities of being human with affection and precision. She moves easily between dialogue-driven and visual comedy, creating work that is visually captivating, pulling nuance from each performance and upending expectations at every turn.
In addition, her work in advertising has been recognized with several awards, including a Clio, a Lion of Cannes and the New Talent Award of the Argentine Creatives Circle.
Camila lives in Buenos Aires. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
